The city of Strasbourg, France is the official seat of the European Parliament. The institution is legally bound to meet there 12 sessions a year, lasting about four days each. Other work takes place in Brussels and Luxembourg City. On 14 December 1999, the Louise Weiss Building of the European Parliament in Strasbourg was inaugurated. It seems like it is insignificant, but wait and see.

(As a side note: Louise Weiss was a French author, journalist, feminist and European politician who in 1934 founded the "The New Woman" association.)

Prior to the construction of the European Parliament building, a poster published by the Council of Europe from 1992 to 1996 showed an image of a tower. This poster was intended to introduce the coming of the new Parliament building. The significance of the image on this poster is that it is modeled after the well-known 16th century artist Pieter Bruegel’s painting of the Tower of Babel. This painting has become the traditional representation of the biblical Tower of Babel.

The European Community poster has the added slogan “Europe: Many Tongues, One Voice.” The motivation behind this is mankind’s hostility against God, and it is in direct rebellion against God’s purpose for creating many more languages during the construction of the Tower of Babel.

The story goes back to the ancient king and arch-apostate, Nimrod. Many of you are very familiar with the history there, but let me just review it quickly. Nimrod established the first "world kingdom" after the Flood.

Genesis 10:8-10 Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before [or, "against"] the LORD.” And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, . . .

Nimrod, in beginning his kingdom, sought to become known as the Liberator, or Emancipator, or "Deliverer of mankind," taking the titles of the true Messiah to himself. Nimrod began to be known as "Phoroneus," which comes from "Pharo," and has several meanings: 'to cast off, to apostatize, to set free'. One signifies “the Apostate." Nimrod was the original "man of sin" who "cast off" the laws of God and rebelled against the Most High.

Nimrod had an incestuous mother-wife, Semiramis, who became deified with him. Down through the history of mankind, she became known by many names: Ishtar (Babylon), Isis (Egypt), Athena (Greece), Minerva (Egypt and Greece), Astarte (Syria), Ashtoreth (Israel), and Diana (Ephesus). These are all other names for the ancient pagan "Queen of Heaven," Semiramis.

Another name for Semiramis was Cybele in Rome. As Nimrod was the "god of fortifications," so she was also an architectural deity—the "goddess of fortifications." This version of the goddess is universally represented as wearing a crown of towers, like the Statue of Liberty.

Alexander Hislop writes on page 30 of his book The Two Babylons,

But of the existence of a goddess of fortifications, everyone knows that there is the amplest evidence. That goddess is Cybele, who is universally represented with a mural or TURRETED CROWN, OR WITH A FORTIFICATION ON HER HEAD. Why was … Cybele thus represented? Ovid [a Roman writer and poet] . . . says, why the STATUE OF CYBELE WORE A CROWN OF towers was, 'because she first erected them in cities.' [She built the first skyscrapers.] The first city in the world after the flood that had towers and encompassing walls was BABYLON; and Ovid himself tells us that it was Semiramis, the first queen of that city, who was believed to have 'surrounded Babylon with a wall of brick.' Semiramis, then, the first DEIFIED QUEEN of that city and tower [the Tower of Babel] whose top was intended to reach unto heaven, must have been the PROTOTYPE of the goddess who 'first made towers in cities.'

Diana of the Ephesians was this same goddess—the goddess of towers—the original Semiramis, mother-wife of Nimrod.

On pages 30-31 of Hislop’s The Two Babylons, he writes,

When we look at the Ephesian Diana, we find evidence to the very same effect. . . the Ephesian Diana . . . was represented with all the attributes of the MOTHER OF THE GODs, and, as the Mother of the gods, she wore a TURRETED CROWN, such as no one can contemplate without being forcibly reminded of the tower of Babel.

Now this tower-bearing DIANA is by an ancient scholiast expressly identified with SEMIRAMIS. When, therefore, we remember that the Rhea or Cybele, the tower-bearing goddess, was, in point of fact, a Babylonian goddess, and that Semiramis, when deified, was worshipped under the name of Rhea, there will remain I think, no doubt as to the personal identify of the 'goddess of fortifications'.

The worship of this pagan goddess caused great persecution for the true believers of the first century AD Paul and his entourage, preaching the true good news about the Messiah and the Kingdom of God in the city of Ephesus, ran smack into the powerful Diana cult, and were hauled before the authorities of the city. We read in the book of Acts,

Acts 19:27-29 So not only is this trade [of making idols] of ours in danger of falling into disrepute, but also the temple of the great goddess Diana may be despised and her magnificence destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worship." Now when they heard this, they were full of wrath and cried out, saying, "Great is Diana of the Ephesians!" So the whole city was filled with confusion, and rushed into the theater with one accord [and I might say, "with one defiant accord," or "one defiant voice"], having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, Paul's travel companions.

Acts 19:34 But when they found out that he [Alexander] was a Jew, all with one [defiant] voice cried out for about two hours, "Great is Diana of the Ephesians!"

They were quite angry over these individuals being there and preaching God's truth. Diana of the Ephesians, this pagan licentious queen of vice and prostitution, infamous for her flagrant vicious spirit, was the original "tower woman," Semiramis.

Why does this matter to us today? Why do we care? Because the tower of Babel is still, to this day, a symbol of the restoration of the same global government that Nimrod and his incestuous mother-wife, Semiramis, tried to accomplish 4,000 years ago with the original tower of Babel. But this time symbolically building a modern tower of Babel named the Louise Weiss Building, named after a woman-worshiping feminist.

The construction of the EU Parliament in the image of the Tower of Babel sends the message that Nimrod had the right philosophy and his Tower of Babel promoted the glorification of mankind over God.

This is an older picture of the painter's rendition of the Tower of Babel. I will put them on the back table so you can see them later. This is the one I want you to see now—this is the parliament building. It was designed after the Tower of Babel, and you will see that it is unfinished on the top—see those? They left it purposely unfinished because the Tower of Babel was not finished either, and they wanted to replicate it.

The very goal of the advocates of the unlimiting immigration policies of Europe and the United States completely support the original Satanic goal introduced by Nimrod and Semiramis thousands of years ago: to meld the people together under one voice. This is exactly what ancient Nimrod and Semiramis tried to do at the original "Tower of Babel," but God defeated their attempt by scattering the nations and confounding their languages:

Genesis 11:4-9 And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth." But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there [confound] their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

Notice what God’s wrath will come against during the Day of the Lord:

Zephaniah 1:14-16 The great day of the Lord is near; it is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; there the mighty men shall cry out. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of trumpet and alarm against the fortified cities and against the high towers.

In contrast, King David points to God, who truly preserves and prospers His people:

Psalm 144:1-2 Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle—my lovingkindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, ….

God is our High Tower, and He will never crumble and fall as those high towers that mankind has built to his own glory. You remember the Twin Towers, and all the skyscrapers of all the cities around the world. What are they trying to do in Dubai? They are trying to reach even higher and higher, and they glorify themselves. So, we see how all the way from Nimrod to this day it has been the same attitude, and they are trying to accomplish the same goals.
